10,000 certificates already secured using the Blockchain

With the help of TrustCerts technology, the FOM University of Applied Sciences sets an effective example against manipulation and fraud.

According to experts, every tenth university certificate in Germany is manipulated. The Internet and digitalization have made forgery easier than ever. The consequences of manipulated certificates cannot be estimated and can occasionally be serious. For example, applicants without adequate qualifications can end up in higher positions and create injustice on the job market. Companies and personnel departments must expect a loss of image and trust if such a case becomes public or causes damage. It has always been one of our goals to make trust verifiable. We are proud to have found a partner in FOM University that pursues the same goals and can thus present its graduates and the parties involved in the application process with a clear advantage on the job market.

With around 55,000 students, FOM University of Applied Sciences is the largest private university in Germany. The university is setting new standards in the areas of digitization and anti-counterfeiting and is using our trust service based on Blockchain technology. This is a simple and effective way of establishing a new level of authenticity for certificates issued. Markus Felten, Vice-Chancellor of FOM University is enthusiastic: “We are already using the new technology at all of our 32 FOM university centers in Germany. Within a very short time, we were able to secure over 10,000 certificates and make them verifiable for those in positions of responsibility”.

Our team at TrustCerts is very pleased about the cooperation and will continue to work on actively shaping the digital change and making the world a little bit safer by using state-of-the-art technology like the Blockchain. Every forgery that can be prevented by TrustCerts is a win-win situation and we are sure that the first 10,000 secured certificates will have many more to follow.

'With the idea of a virtual notary public, the start-up company shows in an exemplary manner the potential of young founders in Gelsenkirchen. Even if their projects are still in the early stages, we want to give them the necessary support and encourage them to stay on.'

Minister of Economics and Digital Affairs Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart
